Natural Collection Cosmetics: Lip Lines and Eyeshadow – Review and Swatches

I wasn’t planning on doing this post today, but as I was browsing through my Instagram feed, I saw a flash sale advertised on the Natural Collection Cosmetics Instagram Page, and I had to share it with you all. All of their products are temporarily available for £1 each (usually £1.99), only redeemable online at, by entering the code NCCONLY1 at checkout. The code is valid until the 14th June 2015, so go on, grab yourself a bargain!

Natural Collection Cosmetics is a UK based (drugstore/high street) cosmetic company, available at Boots online and in-store. Their prices are very affordable, without compromising on quality.

Natural Collection Lip Lines Pencil

I was on the lookout for lip liners that would complement my medium to dark skin (For reference, I am an NC40 – NC44 in MAC foundations). I use lip liners to not only line my lips, but fill them in, to even out my pigmented lips.  I purchased the following Lip Lines, in the shades Mulberry and Espresso, priced at £1.99 each.

They immediately caught my eye because they are the kind of shades I usually gravitate towards. Mulberry is a berry pink colour and Espresso is a light, chocolate-y brown. Both are perfect for my skin tone, and I like to wear them alone. However, because of my dry lips, I need to moisturise well beforehand, or apply a creamy lipstick or gloss on top. My favourite combination is when I mix the two together – the pink and brown create a beautiful, deep mauve on my lips. I have provided both arm and lip swatches so you can get an idea for yourself.

The top and bottom rows are the same colours, but in different lighting. Left to right: Mulberry, Espresso, and the two colours mixed together.

The formula of these lip liners are spot on. They are not so hard that they drag on the lips, but hard enough to get a precise line when applying. They are soft and creamy to fill in the lips, but not so soft that they compromise on lasting power. I’ve had these liners for over a year, and they are definitely the ones that I reach for the most. I like the look of the Plum and Cinnamon shades, and will probably be purchasing those next.

Natural Collection Solo Eyeshadow

I purchased the Solo Eyeshadow in shade Crushed Walnut on the recommendation of YouTuber, Kaushal Beauty. She mentioned it in her videos, as a good contour shade, and she wasn’t wrong! It’s the perfect cool-toned brown shade for contouring on medium to dark skin. The eyeshadow comes in a small, screw top, plastic pot, with a clear lid, which is ideal for seeing the product inside. I couldn’t find how much product is in each pot, but I have had mine for over a year and have hardly dented it. They cost £1.99 each.

The eyeshadow is very pigmented, and blends like a dream, making it perfect for use as a contour. I also use it for its intended purpose – as an eyeshadow – to blend out my eyeliner for a soft smoky look. It is also dark enough to fill in my brows with, for a natural, groomed look. Don’t you just love it when a product is multi-functional? 😀

Do you have any products from Natural Collection Cosmetics? I would love some recommendations, as they have such a vast selection of cosmetics. Being a blusher junkie, my eyes are on their blushers – all six shades look beautiful!

  1. I’ve bought the occasional thing from them, a blusher, which was quite good. I had a funny reaction to one of their eyeshadows so I’m a bit wary of them. My local Boots is a bit rubbish so I’ve not seen much of the range.

  2. I really like the shade you created with the 2 lip liners mixed together.
Ooh I love that eye shadow! And how you’re able to find multiple uses for it – good job!
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this brand – I think one of their blushers is a cult favourite among UK bloggers. If I visited the UK, I’d have to bring an empty suitcase to fit all the beauty products I’d purchase! 😛

  3. Oooh Tifa my fav colours – pinks and browns. I love all the the lip liner swatches you done, I can’t choose a fav and there’s none I actually dislike. Maybe Espresso! I bought my first MAC lipstick (Heroine) and I absolutely love it. Never been a MAC fan but I think that converted me! Great post x
